Managing your booking

Ahead of your visit

  • Where are you located?

There are four El Pastor locations in London. The original on Stoney Street in London Bridge, a second in Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross, a third on Brewer Street in Soho and the latest is south of the river in Battersea Power Station.

  • Is your restaurant wheelchair-accessible?

El Pastor King’s Cross, Battersea and Soho are fully wheelchair accessible. Please note that El Pastor London Bridge is partially wheelchair accessible and Mezcaleria Colmillo is not.

  • Are kids welcome?

Children are welcome at each of our restaurants. We have a dedicated kid’s menu, which you can view on our menu pages, and highchairs are available.

  • Are dogs welcome?

Small and well-behaved dogs are welcome to dine with you inside at our restaurants. We recommend that larger dogs join you on our outdoor terraces.

  • Do you have DJs playing at your restaurants?

Downstairs at El Pastor Soho’s Mezcaleria Colmillo, DJs play from Thursday to Saturday evenings. At King’s Cross, we have DJs on Friday night. If you would prefer to dine in a quieter part of the restaurant, let us know upon booking or arrival and we will do our best to accommodate.

  • What’s your playlist policy?

Our playlist is created in partnership with our friends at Playlister. It aims to reflect and represent the sort of music you might hear amidst the everyday sounds of Mexico City, ranging from cumbias and reggaeton to 80s Italian synth pop and slow, gritty electronica, potentially with a few love ballads thrown in.

  • Can we bring our own birthday cake?

You are welcome to bring your own birthday cake and candles, we don’t charge cakeage. Please note the table return time still applies.

More about us

  • I’d like to learn more about your links to Mexico

Our restaurant co-founders Sam Hart and Crispin Somerville arrived in Mexico City in 1997 and spent a combined 15 years there thereafter. Deep and lasting friendships were made, particularly amongst the creative community: musicians, actors, chefs, producers, directors, and artists. Frequent trips back to Mexico continue to inform us about this rapidly evolving cultural landscape.

  • I’d like to understand your work with Mexican suppliers

We are proud to work with some brilliant Mexican suppliers. Chief among them is TAMOA, from whom we source our heirloom Mexican corn – you can read about them here. We have a longstanding partnership with Mezcales Milagritos, who produce our own EP mezcal. Our dried chillies for our salsas and our wheat flour tortillas are from Masafina, a woman and Mexican-owned supplier based in London.

  • I’d like to understand your work within the Mexican community in the UK

We frequently work with Paola Ferregrino who runs MexiBrit, bringing together Mexicans in London and beyond. We partner with Paola to throw celebrations on key dates in the Mexican calendar, ranging from Mexican Independence Day parties complete with mariachis, to Mexican Christmas markets and Day of the Dead ofrendas. Similarly, we partner with Movimientos, a leading Latin American events organisations, who curate our DJ programming in the restaurants and host occasional parties in partnership with us. We have partnered with Mexican artist Ruta Castor, who has curated all of the art, objects, and Mexican artefacts in El Pastor Soho and have helped to finance their artistic practice. We actively look to engage, partner with, and support people and organisations within the Mexican community. If this is you, please get in touch events@tacoselpastor.co.uk

  • Do you work with any charities?

We are proud to work with Action Against Hunger, who deliver life-saving food, water and shelter to desperate families during emergencies. For every Shiitake Pibil sold, we donate £1 to this cause.

  • Is it possible to see your fresh tortillas being produced?

We are very proud of our tortilla-making process and would be delighted to arrange a visit to our tortilleria in Bermondsey. If you would like to arrange a visit, please get in touch events@tacoselpastor.co.uk

  • I’m going to Mexico, do you have any recommendations for me to check out whilst there?

We’d be delighted to offer you our tips and recommendations for your trip. Please reach out at events@tacoselpastor.co.uk, if you would like to receive them. We update this list frequently, but bear in mind that Mexico is ever-evolving.
