El Pastor welcomes world-renowned Mexican chef, Enrique Olvera, for one night at El Pastor Battersea

The second in the series will see world-renowned Mexican chef, Enrique Olvera, cook a one-off dinner at El Pastor. On Wednesday 18th June, El Pastor Battersea will host Olvera for an exclusive evening celebrating the vibrancy and creativity of modern Mexican cuisine.

Olvera is the visionary behind Mexico City’s iconic Pujol, as well as Cosme in New York, Criollo in Oaxaca, and Damian in Los Angeles. With a career that has shaped the global perception of Mexican food, he is recognised as one of the most influential voices in contemporary gastronomy.

For this special event, Olvera will present a four-course set menu with a bite, a taco course, a sharing dish and a dessert, paired with a welcome cocktail courtesy of Herradura.

Dishes on the night will include a vibrant aguachile of cured tuna with fennel, coriander seeds and habanero; a Sinaloa-style taco of deep-fried cod with guajillo chili adobo (from Olvera’s forthcoming book Sunny Days, Taco Night); and an earthy Jerusalem artichoke barbacoa with salsa verde, sunchoke chicharrón, sunchoke cream and spring onions.

The dinner follows the release of Olvera’s new book, Sunny Days, Taco Nights, published by Phaidon. A vibrant, photo-rich celebration of Mexico’s most beloved dish, the book blends over 100 recipes with culinary history, personal stories, and Olvera’s signature approach to balancing tradition and innovation. From street-style barbacoa to Pujol’s signature avocado flautas and ceviche tacos, Sunny Days, Taco Nights is both a joyful ode to the taco and an invaluable guide for home cooks everywhere.

Tickets are £65 and include a welcome drink courtesy of Tequila Herradura.
