Crispin Somerville’s Mini Guide To Mexico 02

Part two of Crispin Somerville aka Señor Pastor’s current favourite Mexico City hangouts.
Gallery:
Kurimanzutto Conceived by Gabriel Orozco with its first show held at a fruit stall in Mercado de Medellín, Kurimanzutto proved from day one that the most important gallery in Latin America didn’t need walls – and the converted timber factory it eventually settled into in San Miguel Chapultepec only confirmed the point.
Clothes shop:
Aurelia A sister-run Roma Norte concept store that takes the centuries-old leatherwork tradition of Guadalajara’s charrería and reinterprets it into something exquisitely modern – proof that the best Mexican craft doesn’t belong in a museum.
Food:
La Esquina de chilaquiles A family-run corner stand in Condesa that does exactly one thing – stuff chilaquiles into a torta – and does it so well that the queue starts before the city wakes up. Order the torta de chilaquiles con salsa verde fresca y milanesa de pollo; a titan of the snackoverse.
