We’ve decided to shake up our specials for next month. From April, each El Pastor will have two specials unique to that site. Here’s what’s at Battersea.
Hamachi (yellowtail) is a buttery fish from Baja California. Our marinade mixes hibiscus (jamaica) – a classic Mexican ingredient with tart, floral notes and deep red colour – with smoky, mild ancho chilli. The result is a sweet-sour-smoky flavour that takes the classic lime-cured ceviche up a notch.
Northern Mexican grilling celebrates the flavour of high-quality beef cuts. Our rib of beef is served with salsa quemada – “charred salsa” made by roasting tomatoes, chillies, onion, and garlic over flame to create smoky, earthy depth. Whole spring onions and peppers are grilled and served alongside, echoing the taquería and backyard barbecue traditions of Mexico.
